How Good Communication Can Lead To Marriage

Communication is the lifeblood of a relationship.

Those who lack the ability to communicate with others have very little chance to form a lasting and meaningful relationship. This is especially true among men. Men experience greater difficulty with expressing themselves to others, particularly around women.

Lack of communication skills can be often overlooked at the early stages of the relationship as people tend to be focused on the physical aspect and emotions. However, those who are looking for true and lasting bond need to consider communication to have any chance of success.

There are many reasons why men find it hard to communicate than women.

This is mostly due to the traditional view that men have to be tough and strong. This harks back to the days when cavemen hit their mates on the head with a club, brought them back to their caves, and lived happily ever after.

Some men feel that expressing themselves is a form of weakness that is looked down by others. Whatever the reason, mankind has gone a long way since prehistoric times.

The inability of men to express themselves reflects negatively to women. It leads them to believe that men are cold and insensitive. It can make them feel unloved or unwanted. Women are hesitant to make a commitment with such men.

This often isn't the case. Men are just incapable of conveying their loving sentiments.

A man aspiring to build long lasting and successful relationships needs to learn how to communicate in order to build a strong, honest, and truthful bond with a woman.

Both parties must make a conscious effort to open communication lines in a relationship. During these times a couple can really concentrate on what each other have to say. It is important to be able
speak to each other, about their lives and relationship, even just to affirm their happiness.

Equally important is the ability to listen. This includes listening to words, as well as learning to read body language in order to gauge the partner’s feelings.

To do this one must learn to practice active listening. This can be difficult for most men since it requires patience to put aside all their opinions and just concentrate on listening and building healthy rapport.

If there is something that is not clear, ask questions in order to avoid misunderstandings. Only when people truly listen can they have a truly meaningful conversation.

One of the most difficult things for a man to do is to consciously express love. One of the hardest things for a man to say is "I love you". Some men can go their whole lives without muttering these words as it makes them feel vulnerable and exposed.

Communication, parts of which are expressions of love, and affirmations of bond shared between two people, can take them through their future lives together.
