Be Your Own One-Woman/Man
Pep Squad
In a lot of reality talk shows that we see on TV, we can see that there
are guests who seem to have a lot of problems and they seek the help
and support of other people for them to be able to push through with
their problems and stay strong until the very end.
This kind of situation may end up being successful because the guests
are usually given a “life coach” for them to handle their
problems better and eventually become a happy and successful person
at the end.
However, keep in mind that life is not a TV show. We can’t always
seek the help of self-help television shows to help us overcome our
own problems in life. There may be times when even our friends and family
can’t seem to offer their help and service to us, that’s
why we must be prepared to be a one-woman/man pep squad.
What does that mean? It means that we have to learn to be self-sufficient.
Even though we are completely aware of the fact that no man is an island,
we should be prepared to be independent because there will surely be
times in the future when you’ll have no one else to rely on but
yourself.
Be Good To Yourself
Sometimes, we are our own worst critic. Although it is not wrong to
be aware of one’s limitations, dwelling on one’s weaknesses
and bad habits won’t get you anywhere near the word success. Whenever
you come across failures and other disappointments in life, don’t
be too harsh on yourself. Don’t keep on blaming yourself for the
wrong things that happened in your life.
Instead of sulking in a corner and repeating to yourself that you are
a no good loser, why don’t you be mature about it and slowly pick
up the pieces and start over again?
Learn to look at the bright side of life as well as learn how to appreciate
yourself. Give yourself a pat on the back whenever you do something
successfully. Remember, you are a person of worth, and there’s
no one else like you in the whole universe. You should take time to
reflect and realize that amidst all the problems that you have and the
wrong decisions that you have made in the past, you are still special
in your own, unique way.
Acceptance Is the Key
For you to succeed as your very own personal “life coach”,
the first thing that you should do is to accept yourself, truly and
absolutely. Leave no room for pretensions and self-doubt. Acknowledge
your strengths and weaknesses. Learn to get over your weaknesses and
try to enhance and develop your strengths. Accept yourself and for sure,
you will feel more happy and contented. You will also become more efficient
and successful in your endeavors when you are already aware of your
capabilities.
