Discovering What Really Works “Be all you can be” used to be the popular advice before the dawn of the new millennium. However, new times call for new advice. People nowadays aspire for something deeper and more meaningful. Problems and realities confront many of us. These make it difficult for us to think hard of anything else when there are real issues that are waiting for our immediate attention. However, these problems should not even bother or hinder us to become all we ought to be. Our aspirations should continue to live within us and continue to hold on to the dream. We all aspire to BE THE BEST THAT WE CAN BE. Here are some questions to guide us in preparing ourselves for self-improvement. 1) What do I really want? We must discover the areas where we really excel. No matter how small these things are, these will support you towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it. 2) Should I really change? Incidences in our lives have taught us many lessons. These lessons are valuable guides in determining the areas in our lives that need to change. Look at recurring incidences in our lives as these leave clues as to what we need to learn in life. 3) What is the bright side in all of this? 4) Am I expanding my reality? Straying beyond the comfort zone provides stress. This is the reason why we retreat back to our safe cocoon never to venture out again. Sometimes, in order to grow, we need to feel discomfort. The challenge is keep on growing and expanding to reach our fullest potential. 5) Have I done enough for myself? 6) Am I happy at where I am today? Applying this in real life, we love being good and loving to our kids, and then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life! 7) How much could I have? 8) What motivates me? We can be just about anything we always wanted to be. Most often, we give up just with the mere thought of attaining something that may seem very difficult. Always remember, self-improvement is not just about the physical or
philosophical change within us. It has to start with a burning desire
for change and become the best that we can be. |
