Reach For The Elusive Happiness

They say happiness is a word for children. If you look back at those years when ignorance still seemed blissful, you know that what they say is true. Now that you have grown more mature, such great emotion has suddenly become extremely elusive. Pure laughter has been replaced by a contrived one. Unadulterated feelings of joy have traded places with incessant bouts of depression. You begin to wonder if happiness truly exists. You have surveyed the deepest abyss and scaled the highest summit hoping to see a glimpse of what it used to be. You have grown restless over the fact that your search has generated disappointing results.

Happiness is a word for children. That is all you need to know. Look at a child and reminisce the days when every little thing brings pure delight. See the world in a whole new perspective through the eyes of a child. Let it be your guiding light through the tunnel of melancholy and depression.

Less is more. All it takes to appease a child’s tantrum is one sweet colorful candy. You know that well. Wouldn’t it be liberating to free oneself from the clutches of vanity and indulgence? You want so much more in life and yet the essential things you truly need are with you. They are within your reach. You should develop a fascination over simplicity.

The best things in life are free. Take a moment to look around and discover, each time, something wonderful that you have probably overlooked all these years. Life is like a cup of coffee that you thought had no sugar. When you examine more closely you will realize that there are particles of sugar lying at the bottom of the cup. Look closer and you will discover that the people around can actually make your existence totally manageable.

Throw grudges off the window. Young minds hold no ill-feelings towards others. They quarrel and get angry but they get over it really quickly. You should not let negative emotions against other people pile up within like some priceless collectibles. Release them and breathe in a renewed enthusiasm for life.

Health is wealth. Try to appreciate the fact that you are not confined somewhere dreary, bed-ridden due to an illness or suffering any kind of incapacity. A child seeks nothing than to play all day. Be grateful that you are not denied the opportunity to live your life to the fullest. Do what you can to maximize your time and energy always eager to do something productive.

There is so much to do in life than to get knocked over by some unnecessary complications. Never throw an insult to life by thinking there is no hope for people like you. Life is hope. There is always a reason to smile.
