Puzzles To Blow The Mind Studies show that when a child is growing up, the brain can absorb a lot of information. This changes as people grow older; some old data have to be forgotten so that new knowledge can be acquired. Some people who forget names and other things, even at a young age, don’t have Alzheimer’s as some people might think. These individuals just pay attention to other things that they have given more priority to. People can still expand their minds even at old age. This will keep them sharp. They may even be sharper than people who are twenty or thirty years younger. This can be achieved by keeping the mind fit through exercises such as puzzles and brainteasers. These exercises are not like IQ tests that were taken back in school. These simply provide people with new ways of thinking so that information can be absorbed easily. There are many which can be found in books and in the internet. Some of the exercises will use letter and numbers at the same time. The person will have to add and subtract, and then answer what letter is formed in the end. People who are not good in math can have some fun with word problems. There will be some words posted and the person has to translate it. An example could be the “word” that is crossed into each other. This means crossword. There are also coins and dollar tricks that can be found in the pages of some books or in the internet. There are usually 8 or 10 figures and the person has to choose which one is real. The individual shouldn’t feel bad in getting the wrong one since a lot have also made this mistake. There are also brainteasers and puzzles using quotes. The person reads the first few words then finishes the sentences. These quotes can be taken from plays or from important people in history who are often heard in shows; so this will not be difficult to figure out if the person reads and watches a lot of television. There are also quizzes for kids. These are very simple and could be from cartoon shows that children love to watch. An example is in the Disney show Aladdin where the person has to guess what is the name of the genie. There are even some books called “find me” which can be purchased. The pages have pictures of objects scattered around. These may look cluttered and the challenge will be to find the items that are listed. The person can also have some fun with trivial events, similar to jeopardy or some other shows seen on TV. These can be played with everyone in the family to see who is more knowledgeable about current events. The mind puzzles can really blow the mind. The person can do them for fun or as a way to relax after a busy day at work. The individual can check out some websites that have them or get a copy from the bookstore. Life isn’t all about memorizing dates, names, and places. It
is also not all about knowing how to calculate certain numbers to get
the answer. The person can enjoy an activity of brainteasers and puzzles
to make the brain relax and help make him think out of the box. |
