The freelance life can often be even more hectic than a traditional job. You may not have to fight traffic to get to work, but there are still just 24 hours in a day, and finding time to get your work done can be a problem.

In our lives, we have people who count on us. They may count on us for love, friendship, care, or a variety of other things. When you work from home, you will find that the people in your life demand even more of your time and attention, in spite of the fact that you have work to do.

The best way to avoid problems in your home life is to set regular work hours, and to let your family and friends know what those hours are. At the same time, it is a good idea to set your work hours around the schedules of other people in your home.

For example, if your spouse works at night, you might want to work at night, so that you are off at the same times that your spouse is. If your children attend school during the day, on the other hand, it will be better to set your work hours during those times.

If you have a hectic, busy household, you may have to do your work in the dead of the night, when everyone else is asleep. This, however, can put a toll on your family life.

It may take a little doing, but you should experiment with different work hours, and find out what hours you will be the most productive — and the least interrupted. It is important that you make family and friends understand that you are working during your work hours, and that you should not be interrupted unless it is a real emergency. You may even have to specify what constitutes a real emergency.
