There are two ways to become ID verified and have that icon placed beside your name.

The first way is simply to supply your credit card information to eBay. They will verify your identity and the service will cost you nothing.

The second way can cost you five dollars but it is quicker. You provide your personal information to eBay and then you are verified.

You are not charged the fee until after verification has been completed. If for any reason, the verification process fails, you are not charged the fee.

While the ID Verified icon is not at all difficult to acquire, the power seller icon is.

The only way to get the power seller icon placed beside your name on eBay is to earn it. It is earned after you have consistently made large volume sales month after month.

The power seller icon is earned by doing a volume business over several months while maintaining a 98% positive feedback rating.

When you see the power seller icon beside a sellers name, it means that they have met the criteria for being recognized as an eBay power seller.

Each month eBay sends out email invitations to sellers who have qualified to become PowerSellers.

Theses sellers have met the following requirements and membership is free:

* Have been an active member for 90 days
* Average a minimum of $1000 in sales per month, for three consecutive months
* Achieve an overall Feedback rating of 100, of which 98% or more is positive
* Have an account in good financial standing
