Buying On Ebay

Buying merchandise on eBay is a very simple process once you get to the actual purchase but before you get to the place where you type in your credit card information and pay for an item that you have the winning bid on or click on the buy now button, there are some steps that you should have already taken.

You need to have gathered the information about the item, as well as, the seller. You need to know the following information:

* Starting Bid... Sellers can set a starting bid price. This is the lowest price that they are willing to sell the item for.
* Current Bid...This is the current highest big on the item.
* Buy It now price ...sometimes there is a buy it now price that you can click on to bypass the bidding process.
* How well the item is described...some items require much more detailed descriptions than others. For example: the width, length, color, construction material and washing or cleaning instructions would all be pertinent information about window curtains.
* Seller’s feedback rating...this is what others who have bought products from this seller have said about them.
* The condition of the item...all items that are sold on eBay are not new and unused. The condition of the item might say, used but in excellent condition.
* Seller’s shipping details, payment details & return policy... sellers are allowed to set their own shipping, payment and return policies as long as they are in compliance with eBays standards.

Once you have done your homework you are ready to begin bidding on an item or just buying it by choosing the buy it now option.

There is a process by which buyers and sellers can iron out any differences or misunderstandings. They can exchange emails through eBay or they can speak by telephone.

If there are problems after a sale, however, that the buyer and seller cannot work out, there is an arbitration process.
