Lance Burton: The 2006 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, was a water-logged affair, despite its magic-theme. Lance Burton, aboard the Sweepstakes-winning FTD float, “Your Wish is My Command,” weathered the two-and-a-half hours of cold and rain, as well as constant taunts from the crowd to “make the rain disappear.”

The theme for this years parade was “ItsMagical.” “Despite the nonstop cold rain soaking me to the bone; even knocking my waterproof cape off, it was the children’s happy faces and the spirit of the crowd that made it all worthwhile,” said Burton.

David Blaine: The latest David Blaine stunt was to try to hold his breath for 9 minutes underwater after having been living under water for 7 days prior to the stunt. He didnt succeed but you could hardly call his effort a failure.

He was his usual mesmerizing self and the clips showing him doing street magic were wonderful. He certainly put all the effort anyone could into making the trick work. He trained with Navy Seals and visited with daredevils like Evil Knevil in preparation for doing his “Drowned Alive” special in New York. David waved to the crowd as he walked away with help and said, “I love you all”.

David Copperfield: I have NO IDEA how David Copperfield does his amazing illusions. At a recent show he appeared out of nowhere on a motorcycle in the middle of the stage.

Later, a green Lincoln jalopy appeared - with license plates of numbers matching those written by the audience. He “transported” an audience member to reunite with his father in Phuket, Thailand, on the beach. A Polaroid picture of the folks on stage - as well as other “proofs” - was the same one that appeared in Thailand (supposedly live from a satellite feed).
