Last television season and in the coming television season there are several shows that feature characters who are psychics... or who we are led to believe are in some way psychic.

Psychics and characters that have other supernatural powers are going to be very popular.

If I could choose between being able to fly like Superman or be able to see the future, I’d pick seeing the future every time! Wow! I could get rich if I knew where the stock market was going or who was going to win the Super Bowl.

The question is are there really people who can actually see into the future and who really do know what will happen or see into the past and be able to accurately say what did happen no matter what others say happened?

Police departments all over the United States regularly employ psychics in their search for missing people and to help them solve crimes like robbery, rape and murder. These psychics who are employed by police departments do seem to be able to help in solving crimes and finding missing people.

The Court TV channel regularly features a program called“Psychic Detectives”. The ‘visions that these psychics have when working with police are not always clear andthere will sometimes be numbers involved that could be related to anything.

Not all who claim to be psychic are really psychic...sometimes they are really good at picking up clues and filling in the blanks. Not all, of course, but certainly some.

The psychics employed by police departments are not of the same caliber as those who have signs painted on sheets of plywood depicting a crystal ball that says, “Readings ------->” and a price list.

This kind of ‘psychic’ is mostly just really adept at picking your pocket and should be avoided. There is usually one to be found on every midway of every two bit traveling carnival.

They can’t tell you if you will meet the love of your life in the next twenty four hours or even make a good suggestio for what to have for dinner. Save your money!
