Using music in your magic show makes it sound more professional at the very least. The problem has always been how best to have the right music to play at the right time.

The music you want to have playing while an audience member is walking on stage to participate in a magic trick is not the same music you want to have playing while you are doing an illusion, obviously. The lower end units will not support playlists. Another thing about MP3 players is that they have a battery saving function that causes them to automatically turn off after they are not used for a few minutes. This could be a problem.

Look carefully at the MP3 unit you are considering and be certain that in a sub-menu there is an option in the “auto-power down” menu that will allow you to set the time before the automatic shut off occurs.
