Essential Magicians Starter Kit

The beginner magician needs to have two important things in his or her beginner kit.

The first is passion for the art of magi and you can’t buy that anywhere. Without a passionate desire to learn, you will never be a great (or even good) magician because you won’t put in the necessary hours of practice.

The second thing a beginner magician needs is information. Without good instruction about performing basic magic tricks you won’t be able to move on to bigger and better magic tricks. As far as the contents of the physical “Magic Kit” is concerned, you can always use a deck of cards, some coins and plastic balls and cups. If you want to look like a stereotype magician, you might pack a top hat, a cape and a magic wand in that beginner kit.

If a want-to-be magician chooses to do close-up magic or street magic like David Blaine, then he or she needs to get the video instructions for performing the tricks. Each trick will tell you what, if any, equipment is needed to successfully perform the trick.

Most close-up magic or street magic requires nothing more that a deck of regular playin gcards or, sometimes special cards, and some coins, plastic balls and cups and things that you have in your pocket. The magic occurs when you know what to do with them.

To begin with you should probably only buy one or two tricks on video. Then you need to practice until you perfect them to the point where you could do them in your sleep and backwards.
