No one is born a writer. Writing, more than just being a means of communication, is a form of expression that is developed through constant practice. That's what others mean when they say that writers are made. Many people who are not into writing usually ask, "Why should I write? What good can it give me?" Smart questions. But there are smarter answers:
Writing can give you a sense of freedom. It allows you to be whom and what you want to be. In writing, you can be just anyone and anything, and be anywhere. You can be a dumb mule to someone far greater than Einstein. You can have J.Lo's body and Keira Knightley's face. You can go to Venice and row a boat in the clear waters of Grand Canal. You can even be the happiest person, when in fact, you're going through an initiation of misery.
Writing can be your dearest friend. It can absorb all of you when no one else can. Sometimes, even your best friend gets filled up with your woes and you're acting so helpless. But your pen, your paper, your thoughts, and your feelings are there-waiting for you to scribble all your joys or dash off your sadness. Writing lets you speak with your pen, while it intently listens.
Writing can be you way of unloading everything that your heart contains. All of us happen to be overwhelmed sometimes-beset by too much grief or excessive happiness. We get to have so much of many sensations that our hearts find difficult to engulf. When time like that comes, you have your pen and paper to soak up everything that your heart disgorges so that nothing pours out worthless. You'll get to absorb and feel everything-from the highness of elation to a dwindling desolation.
Writing molds you to become a better person. It allows you to think and reflect. Thinking at inner length will make you aware of the beauty as well as the flaws of your psyche, and realize the measures that need to be enhanced to become a more beautiful person. While meditation allows you to see and reflect on your soul, and exudes those that are left unnoticed when you're living your stiff and unquiet circumstances.
Writing surely allows you to explore many dimensions-giving you surprises on where the journey may lead you. Buckle up and join the ride!
