The Power of Persuasion Can Make You Filthy Rich

There are many ways to achieve power and it is not only through force. Sometimes, the ability to persuade someone will make that person do just about anything without the need for violence.

There are many people who have used diplomacy to achieve a certain objective. The power of persuasion, then, really depends on what the individual has on hand. This could be information that the person wants or needs, which is usually in the form of reward or punishment.

A good example could be a bank robber who has a gun and threatens to shoot anyone who does not follow the instructions he gives. Another could be a police cruiser going on the freeway and has the power to ask a driver to pull over for speeding or making any traffic violation. This can also happen in the workplace, where an employee can be fired after a major screw-up.

The desire for power grows as one ages. Psychologists who have done studies believe that being in control makes the person feel strong, invincible, and, more often than not, exhilarated.

So how can the power of persuasion make one filthy rich? Put simply, those who are able to sell the benefits and features of a certain product will be able to close more deals than someone who is not that focused.

In fact, some of the best people that do this are sales agents and it does not matter if the individual is selling insurance, a car, or a piece of property. Sometimes, the power of persuasion is merely letting the customer hear what he or she wants and the rest is history.

A recent market study has shown that 26% of this country's gross domestic product, or GDP, is attributed to the power of persuasion. This makes the employees the backbone of any organization. If not for strategic thinkers and planners, advertising and other marketing activities will never work.

Unfortunately, not everyone wields the power of persuasion. This has to be harnessed in order for it to grow. Those who have never sold anything before will have to attend product presentations, as well as learn from the more experienced employees within the company.

After making a few mistakes and even finding a personal style on how to deal with the customer, there is a chance that more sales will be made and money will start to come in, thus, making one very productive.

The power of persuasion is also considered to be a golden ticket for a promotion. This means the individual won't be out in the field that much anymore and, instead, find himself or herself busy with coaching and motivating the new recruits, and even get commissions at the same time.

Anyone can become a master communicator. The priest who preaches at Sunday masses, the captain in an aircraft, and even the average Joe who is not that affluent but is doing quite well given the circumstances can get a message across without much trouble.

Being able to persuade and influence is what makes the difference between someone who hopes to have a better income than one who already does. The person may not get it right the first time; but with a little practice and the ability to recognize opportunities when these present themselves, the individual will be able to make a lot of money and, in the end, become filthy rich.
